Techlands response today was this, I have not tried it yet, but I will be. I did however have 1.4.0 backed up, and when I replaced the directory and ran Steam in 'Offline' mode the game launched fine, displaying 1.4.0. I have the pre-ordered hardcopy, so re-installing was no issue, which I done twice, deleted folders in documents relating to DL, even ran CCleaner, uninstalling, re-installing MS redist packages, DX, and Techlands response was rather quick, 3 emails back and forth within several hours was impressive IMO. I have actually been in contact with Techland over this issue as I had the game launch ONCE after 1.5.0 update then this exact same issue occurred. Just cut those files and move them to a folder named bad_files or whatever, and keep them there in case they patch it and you want to restore them. Whatever the case, you'll at least be able too play the game, which is more than you can do right now. This is a common 'fix' for many games, and in most cases the files aren't vital to the game -soometimes they're audio, some textures, or a random video effect-, so you don't even notice what you're missing until someone bothers to take a look at the files and figure out what they do.
As the OP stated, he has no idea what those files are for, but so far the game is running without issues. Originally posted by:But aren't that files needed? Sphax Purebdcraft Tekkit Texture Pack 1.2.5 Download.
